  • Anglais pour débutants 1, cours ouvert (EANAO)
    APD 1 introduces non–English-speaking students to the English language. The course will help students develop basic English-language skills in listening, speaking, reading, and writing for everyday purposes. Students will learn and apply a few strategies and techniques to communicate ideas and information independently and enhance the effectiveness of their communications. They will acquire basic oral and oral-visual communication skills by using familiar conversational conventions and vocabulary to interact in real-life situations. They will read and respond to basic and adapted texts such as short illustrated stories, poems, and informational forms. They will write basic texts such as journal entries and brief messages and produce media texts such as e-cards and captions. These learning experiences will provide a foundation for the further development of students’ English-language skills.

  • Anglais pour débutants 2, cours ouvert (EANBO)
    APD 2 will help students develop their ability to listen to, speak, read, and write simple English in familiar situations. Students will apply a range of strategies and techniques to communicate ideas and information independently and enhance the effectiveness of their communications. They will have numerous opportunities to hear and speak English in a range of familiar contexts and to read, respond to, and write texts in a variety of forms and genres, including songs/lyrics, narratives, advice columns, and short expository paragraphs. These learning experiences will enable students to continue to expand their English-language skills. 
    • Préalable : Anglais pour débutants 1, cours ouvert, ou l’équivalent 
  • Anglais pour débutants 3, cours ouvert (EANCO)
    APD 3 will help students extend their skills in using English for a variety of purposes in familiar and new contexts. Students will apply a range of strategies and techniques to communicate ideas and information accurately and enhance the effectiveness of their communications. They will create and present a range of oral and oral-visual texts, including a news article and an interview. They will read, interpret, and write texts in a variety of forms and genres, including one-act plays, narratives, short news articles, letters of opinion, and simple business correspondence. These learning experiences will enable students to consolidate and further develop their English-language skills. 
    • Préalable : Anglais pour débutants 2, cours ouvert, ou l’équivalent 
  • Anglais pour débutants 4, cours ouvert (EANDO)
    APD 4 will help students to use English with increasing fluency and accuracy in a wide range of contexts and prepare them to make the transition to regular English courses. Students will apply a wide variety of strategies and techniques to communicate ideas and information clearly and enhance the effectiveness of their communications. They will extend their listening and speaking skills through delivering oral and oral-visual presentations such as a debate and a review. They will read and interpret longer and more challenging texts such as a novella and magazine articles, and will write more complex texts such as a research report and a review. These learning experiences will help students continue to use English competently and with confidence.
